About Heidi Richards Mooney

Heidi Richards Mooney is an author, business coach and entrepreneur, the Founder and CEO of the Women’s ECommerce Association International (WECAI™) with a mission for “Helping Women do MORE Business on the WEB!.” With almost 30 years experience running successful small businesses, she understands the needs and challenges small businesses face, in particular those run by women.

She has been studying ecommerce for more than seven years and has been running two very successful ecommerce sites, sharing her knowledge of leadership, sales and marketing in her blogs and ezines. It was her work in promoting ecommerce among women that got the attention of Jerrilyn Thomas, CEO of the International Virtual Women’s Chamber of Commerce.  In January 2005 she was named one of the Top 50 Virtual Women Shaping the Internet for 2005.

She is also the President (Chief Goddess) of Eden Florist & Gift Baskets in Miramar, Florida – a full-service florist offering flowers, plants, gift baskets and wedding and party décor.  With a staff of 10 to run the day-to-day operations Heidi is able to be visible and active in the community and believes that it is her job to promote her company both locally, nationally and international.  She loves being a business owner in such a culturally rich and diverse community as South Florida.

Representing her company, Speaking With Spirit, Heidi has travelled the world sharing the lessons she’s learned over the past 28+ years as a small business owner. She has been mentoring and coaching small business owners on marketing and promoting their companies for more than 15 years first as a speaker for the SBA Small Business Development Center in South Florida and then as a professional speaker, trainer and consultant. She is a frequent presenter at Conferences in United States, and has spoken in South America, Africa and Europe on topics such as marketing, leadership and human resources. Heidi’s other passion is writing.  She is the author of eight books including PMS Principles – Powerful Marketing Strategies to Grow Your Business, Romance on a Budget, “Yes,” is only the Beginning, What’s Your OccuPLAYtion™? and Life Compass for Women. She also writes seven blogs including her three newest, Success and Then Some, Redhead Marketing and Inventing Women as well as a full-color multi topic digital magazine ~ WE magazine for Women.

Heidi lives by the mantra her mother taught her: “We make our own future by the actions we take each and every day.  Life is going to be tough and it’s that toughness that builds our character and makes us strong and adaptable,” and she hopes to pass this same philosophy and her joie de vivre (love for life) onto her children and grandchildren.
Among her dozens of accolades, Heidi has been recognized by the South Florida Business Journal as Business Woman of the Year, National Top Ten Business Woman of the Year by the American Business Women’s Association, The Sam Edwards Award for Speaking, Women in Business South Florida Advocate of the Year by the SBA and in 2004 was inducted into the Broward County Women’s Hall of Fame.  In 1993 the Mayor of Miramar even named a day after her – June 26th is Heidi Richards Day!
